Most of us agree that, based on our college experiences, at the least, if there was any one person who could bring us all together, it’d be Robert Nesta Marley.
Taken from his incredible album, Rastaman Vibration, Bob offers a song based on an Emperor Haile Selassie I address to the United Nations. Like Chumplethinskin™, the Emperor had some autocratic tendencies. Unlike ThatDude™, the Emperor sought unity.
“That until that day
The dream of lasting peace,
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained –
Now everywhere is war – war.”
Bob Marley and the Wailers, “War” (1976)
Yesterday was quite a day. National responses to unjust practices were mindblowing. Again, I hope the movement is sustained. We, at thatdudeisaliar.com, will certainly do our part, unless we are hacked by the Russians. As seen here, in a mere eight days, the site has gone worldwide (well, kind of).
As always, big ups to the ACLU, an organization that has fought for rights for all, including the Alternatives.
Before I forget, can I get some outrage from the Alternatives like they gave President Obama for this. Better yet, a decision to come together like ridding themselves of “the philosophy which holds one race superior/and another Inferior” and “finally and permanently/discredit(ing)/and abandoning” it would be nice. Not as nice as an evening with Bob Marley, but a start.
